On douchebaggery and phones
I’m not ashamed to admit I like my douchier tendencies. I like going to the market, stopping at the Starbucks kiosk for a latte and shopping the perimeter of the store because I like to pretend doing that keeps me healthy. While drinking a drink that’s mostly non-organic milk tinged with artificial sweetener. After driving my lazy ass to the market.
I use a Bluetooth earpiece. I...

So I’ve never seen this movie, but the pack of Almond Roca I got at Target yesterday sparked the “Do you remember that movie…” conversation. Neither of us did.

Thank God for Rachel
My friend Rachel works a few miles from me, out in THE MIDDLE OF FUCKING NOWHERE.
We had lunch together today. I felt civilized and normal, like I used to when I worked in Bethesda or even Gaithersburg and would meet friends from outside work for lunch during the day.

$141? Try Again.
I didn’t fail, I found $100 cash that I socked away out of my last paycheck to contribute to this month’s rent. I’m not calling off the challenge, but I am going to sit down next Thursday to figure out exactly how much I spent.

Challenge update
I spent $32.81 today - $30 on gas, $2.81 at Starbucks. I also found a rogue $1 bill in my wallet, so I guess I’m really doing the $141 challenge.
Memo from management
I pulled my Twitter feed out of here. If you don’t follow me on Twitter, you can see my current status in the lovely blue box to the right, and click through at the link below the badge to see my whole Twitter life.

$140 Challenge
I have that much to get through the next two weeks. That’s more than a lot of people, that’s less than a lot of people. It’s definitely less than I’m used to having for a two week span, and it has to cover gas, food, and if there’s anything left over, ”entertainment.”
Hurdle 1 is gas. I work 28 miles from home. I get $30 worth of gas at a time,...
Batter Blaster. Much better as an idea than an executed product.
Slowly realizing there’s not really any way for me to finish my math class and kicking myself hard.
Going to sleep. Then, pancakes!
My dumb @ me.com email address works.
I really wish the jumpsuit would make a comeback.
Watching Studio 60 on Hulu. I’m glad that 30 Rock won the war of the show-about-a-show, but this show was really really good.
Watching A Prairie Home Companion and tidying up. Got a Snickers bar in the freezer and a Batter Blaster in the fridge for the morning.
Nothing inspiring at Container Store but I did find out they’re no longer selling Moleskine anything.
To the untrained eye, I look like a very organized hobo.
Getting ready to do my errands, which take me up to Rockville and Gaithersburg. Start North and head South, or start South and head North?
Even twitter’s being lazy today.
I’m going to make some man very frustrated one day. Lucky, but frustrated.
Got about 3/4ths ready to go, now I don’t really feel like leaving.
In the mood for some West Wing. Maybe I’ll hit Best Buy after all.
Foiled my own plan - website shows that Season 2 isn’t in stock in any store within a driving distance I’ll tolerate.
Waiting for the debilitating heartburn to become less so.
Death Cab for Cutie: Soft rock for people who don’t like to admit they like soft rock.
It’s starting to feel like a Container Store kind of day.
Pizza and gin didn’t make for good sleep. Drinking coffee and preheating the oven.
Home with a belly full of gin and pizza. I am planning on sleeping well - and a lot - tonight.
Lots of people cheating on Savannah’s at Stained Glass tonight. We’ve already been recognized once.
Some random dude is directing traffic. I (heart) Wheaton.
Wheaton Fireworks, you’re awesome.
