In case you were wondering
Here’s how to spend $1500 fixing a noise that you thought a bottle of oil would solve: Have your mechanic inform you that you weren’t just low on oil, your oil cap has gone completely missing. This will result in Oil all over the inside of your engine, including on your drive belts and exhaust manifold. This will result in a request to pressure wash your engine. Make sure...

Things that made my list today
Paypal Thinkpads (in general) Saks Fifth Avenue Neiman Marcus My affinity for bad 80’s music The specific Thinkpad that our client requires me to use, which is a POS The woman in the locker room who sounded like she was trying to get a little something extra out of her workout The guy on the recumbent bike who didn’t exhale so much as attempt to expel all of the phlegm from...

Inspired by this guy and this guy, I’m not only breaking from nipples but from shots altogether to bring you this - the Vodka Twibzler. Mix up some vodka (plain, Stoli Strasberi, Smirnoff Strawberry) and some grenadine. Pour it over some ice, and fill the glass the rest of the way with…

When Dan posted this poll, I was one of the firm No answerers (and not one of those who exhibited the bizarre compulsion to provide an excuse) (I think I might have said Nope, now that I think about it). But then the news said I could reserve one and this happened - I figure I have three weeks to decide whether or not to pick it up.

Chunk of print frightens nation →
tl;dr doug: bobulate: The American public this week: Unable to rest their eyes on a colorful photograph or boldface heading that could be easily skimmed and forgotten about, Americans collectively recoiled Monday when confronted with a solid block of uninterrupted text. Dumbfounded citizens from Maine to California gazed helplessly at the frightening chunk of print, unsure of what to do next....

Matt Braunger: Ceci n'est pas une owl. →
I have a shirt that says the above French statement with a picture of an owl on it. It’s the only owl-related thing I’ve ever bought for myself (besides tootsie pops as a child, of course). This is just because people have given me owl-related things throughout my comedy career, based on a bit I… When I was in high school working diligently on the newspaper, yearbook, and lit mag...

I broke my favorite mug this morning
Dropped it handle-first into the sink, breaking off not only the handle but a good chunk of ceramic where the handle was attached, rendering it holey. I bought it in a tourist shop in Vegas. I might have to go back to get another one - my Fiestaware mugs are too small to hold the massive amount of coffee I seem to require in the mornings.

Yes, I recognize the irony
Thinking about driving to the Rockville Bed Bath and Beyond to buy a cart thing for carless grocery trips instead of taking the Metro to the Chinatown Bed Bath and Beyond, which is a shorter trip. I’m feeling lazy, okay? And I need to buy a new coffee mug.

Feelin' a little crazy
Thinking about replacing half my sharp cheddar with truffle cheddar when I make macaroni and cheese this weekend. What do you think, will it be mind blowing or a waste of truffle cheddar? Edit: Sam, it gets bacon AND jalapeños. And panko. Edit 2: Dave, that’s why I’m hesitant. And only planning on using half regular, half truffle.
