A bunch of New Yorkers got the message earlier today when a mob of trenchcoat-wearing, boombox-hoisting Lloyd Doblers — calling themselves a “Mobler” — stormed Penn Station, NYU, Union Square and other high-traffic spots.
The Dobler Day ends this afternoon, when the Lloyds gather in Times Square for a free concert featuring Silver Spring, Md., band the Lloyd Dobler Effect. The group plans to offer its version of Peter Gabriel’s In Your Eyes for free download at ReverbNation.com.
