As much as I will miss all of my amazing friends, meeting Bryan Safi (and Erin Gibson, because DAMN I just found the most amazing “Aunt Jenny” hat today and I feel like she’s the only person who would REALLY GET IT, you guys) is one of the biggest things I’m going to be sad about missing by not going to MaxFunCon next weekend.

So, that happened. I’ve had a cell phone continuously since 1994, and this is the very first one I’ve broken. And after this happened, I was dead set on keeping myself on the Evo until October (mostly because that conversation was a hilarious and illustrative example of my life right now). Of course, since that happened at about 01:00 Saturday, I was basically waiting at the phone store the second they opened 9 hours later, and walked out with an iPhone 4S.

You guys, I called Sprint this morning to make sure I could return it and still upgrade when the next iPhone comes out.

Of COURSE I have loved having an iPhone again. I’ve never made any secret about the fact that I don’t like Android so much. I wasn’t a fan of the hardware. And that hardware was generally falling apart.

BUT.

What a tiny screen! What a slow 3G connection! THIS is what I used my upgrade for?

I just ordered a new-to-me phone on eBay. As soon as that sucker arrives, the iPhone gets returned, my upgrade gets restored, and all will be right with the world again. Eventually.

Two Unrelated Things

Now that hockey season is over for me and my brain is mush, there are two things I feel like I need to tell you guys before I start my own personal offseason regimen of workouts and drinking.

First. I love news men with a sense of humor. Love. The obviousness of Brian Williams’ place in “funny news man” universe aside, watching Lester Holt and David Gregory come out of the floor in billows of smoke (an entrance usually reserved for professional wrestlers) during Friday’s Jimmy Fallon, Holt striking a pose with a hip jutted out and Gregory raising his arms over his head like he’d already won the bubble soccer match, left me a giggling mess on my couch.

Second. I don’t like brownie edges. I’m sorry, I just don’t. If it’s not a fudgy (NOT cakey, cake brownies are for the birds) (as in, if I am served a cakey brownie at a picnic I will feed the birds with it) brownie cut from the middle of the pan, or at least with the edge broken off, I don’t want anything to do with it.

I love a crude, sappy sentiment.
